The grammar of a great prompt

Prompts have a syntax: subject, then composition, then light, then medium.

Order is information

Models weight early tokens more heavily, so the order of a prompt is itself a signal. A reliable grammar puts the subject first, then composition, then lighting, then medium and finish.

Following a consistent structure makes results reproducible and makes failures legible — when an image misses, you can usually point to the clause that the model under-weighted.
